Evening primrose is traditionally used by North American Indians as an infusion for healing wounds. The oil is extremely high in fatty acids, particularly gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which affects many of the functions of enzymes in the body. It is also rich in vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, E and salicylic acid. Used as a substrate for essential oils, it is important to note that this is an extremely fine texture oil has wonderful moisturizing properties. For external use is indicated for eczema, psoriasis, premenstrual syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and weight reduction.
